Training Requirements

The following training and qualification requirements apply to this driving position.

Terminal requirement training
Ability to pass terminal tests and become carded at all terminals
Company-provided training consisting of both physical and electronic training
Company-provided safety training
Defensive driving training and successful completion of a company road test

Key Responsibilities

The driver is responsible for safely operating a truck and trailer to deliver petroleum products while completing assigned duties efficiently and in compliance with company policies and DOT regulations.

Driving Duties

Safely operate a Class A truck with Hazmat tanker
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with Schnell Transport LLC and DOT standards

Loading & Delivering Petroleum Products

Lift and secure loading hands weighing approximately 50–60 lbs to the loading head
Operate the loading computer system
Detach product arms and hoses
Obtain pre-delivery tank readings and assess delivery variables
Safely transfer petroleum products into the correct tanks
Obtain post-delivery readings
Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform basic routine maintenance

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 50+ lbs
Frequent stooping, bending, crouching, and kneeling
Sit for extended periods, up to 11 hours
Meet DOT physical and medical requirements
Pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screenings
Read, write, and speak English fluently
Perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Use company-provided electronic devices to communicate and document deliveries
Work independently in a safe and efficient manner
Successfully pass a road test administered by Schnell Transport LLC

Attendance & Scheduling

Schedule is determined by seniority
New drivers must be available to work nights and weekends
Drivers must be willing to work up to 14-hour shifts
Typical shifts are 12 hours; extreme weather conditions may require up to 16 hours
