Key Responsibilities
The Driver is responsible for safely operating a truck and trailer to deliver petroleum products. This includes completing all assigned duties efficiently and in compliance with company policies and DOT regulations.
Driving Duties
• Safely operate a Class A truck with Hazmat tanker
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with Schnell Transport LLC and DOT standards
Loading & Delivering Petroleum Products
• Lift and secure loading hands (50–60 lbs) to the loading head
• Operate the loading computer system
• Detach product arms and hoses
• Obtain pre-delivery tank readings (manually or electronically) and assess delivery variables
• Safely transfer petroleum products into correct tanks (cross-drops may result in immediate termination)
• Obtain post-delivery readings (manually or electronically)
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicle and perform basic routine maintenance
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs
• Frequent stooping, bending, crouching, and kneeling
• Sit for extended periods (up to 11 hours)
• Meet DOT physical and medical requirements
• Pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screenings (DOT and company policy)
• Read, write, and speak English fluently (to interact with the public and complete reports)
• Perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Use company-provided electronic devices to communicate and document deliveries
• Work independently in a safe, efficient manner
• Successfully pass a road test administered by Schnell Transport LLC
Attendance & Scheduling
• Schedule determined by seniority
• New drivers must be available to work nights and weekends
• Must be willing to work up to 14-hour shifts
• Typical shifts are 12 hours; extreme weather conditions may require up to 16 hours
